Telluride has an impressive 148 trails, serviced by 19 lifts, including two gondolas that provide not only essential transport but also panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Whether you are a beginner or have been skiing for years, Telluride offers a perfect mix of terrain, from gentle green slopes to challenging double blacks, with spectacular 360-degree views of the surrounding San Juan Mountains. Both skiers and snowboarders revel in the resort's varied landscape, which features wide-open groomers, mogul runs and pristine tree runs.
Telluride is famous for its abundant snowfall, averaging over 7.5 metres annually, ensuring plenty of powder throughout the season. Telluride also offers a free gondola system that provides seamless transportation between Telluride and Mountain Village, which is not only convenient but scenic for visitors. The ride between the two roughly takes 13 minutes and offers spectacular views, making it an attraction in itself.
Beyond the slopes, Telluride's apres-ski scene is vibrant and welcoming, from the cosy atmosphere of the Tomboy Tavern to the lively vibe of Gorrono Ranch - there's a spot for every mood. Telluride is best accessed via Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ), about 65 miles away, or Telluride Regional Airport (TEX), located just 10 minutes from the town. Denver International Airport (DEN) is another option for those willing to drive or take a connecting flight.
By Train
Although there is no direct train service to Telluride, travelers can take the Amtrak to Grand Junction or Glenwood Springs. From there, car rentals or shuttles are available for the drive to Telluride.
By Car
Driving to Telluride offers stunning scenic views. From Montrose, take US-550 South to Ridgway, then CO-62 to Placerville, and finally CO-145 to Telluride. Car rentals are available at all nearby airports.
By Bus
